PROJECT OVERVIEW

Spectrum Construction delivered a landmark £60m remediation and redevelopment project at South Wales Police Headquarters, transforming a previously derelict area of the estate into a modern, purpose-built facility. The scheme provides high-quality accommodation for key operational and administrative departments while supporting the long-term regeneration of the wider site, enabling the release of obsolete estate for future redevelopment.

THE BRIEF

To remediate and redevelop part of the existing headquarters estate, delivering modern facilities to support operational, training and administrative functions.

SCOPE OF WORKS

The project created new accommodation for the force’s Learning and Development and HR departments, the Police and Crime Commissioner, alongside additional meeting rooms and a dedicated lecture theatre.

SUPPORTING TRAINING & WELLBEING

As part of the wider site-wide programme, Spectrum Construction also delivered a new gym and training facility, designed to support fitness and contact training for new police recruits as part of their formal training programme.

THE RESULT

A future-ready, purpose-built facility that enhances operational capability, supports staff development, and unlocks wider redevelopment opportunities across the estate.
